Aegis forms UK's largest regional media agency
Aegis Group plc - the media planning, buying and market research company - announced today that it has acquired WIRR - Feather Brooksbank, a leading Scottish media agency based in Edinburgh, for an initial cash consideration of £7.5 million.
Feather Brooksbank will be merged with Aegis’ Carat subsidiary in Manchester, creating the largest media planning and buying specialist outside of London, with combined current billings in excess of £105 million. The merged entity will trade under the name Feather Brooksbank and will maintain offices in Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Commenting on the announcement, Doug Flynn, Chief Executive of Aegis said:
"The acquisition of Feather Brooksbank is consistent with our growth strategy and by merging it with our Manchester operations establishes Carat as the leading media specialist outside of London. It also adds a number of high quality clients including, Standard Life, Scottish Power and the Scottish Tourist Board to Carat’s existing client list.
"Feather Brooksbank will add extensive local expertise to Carat’s offering in Scotland and the North of England, complementing our existing operations and providing an excellent platform to grow our business. The acquisition also brings with it an established and well regarded management team."
