Group Press Releases
Appointment of New Group Chief Financial Officer
10 April 2000
Aegis Group plc announces that Jeremy Hicks (46) has today been appointed Chief Financial Officer. Jeremy was the former Group Finance Director of Abbott Mead Vickers plc, having joined the company in 1994. Prior to joining AMV he was a director of Hambros bank, working with several major companies in their international development.
At AMV, Jeremy played a key role in the strategic development of the company into one of the largest marketing services groups in the UK. He completed 14 acquisitions, developed several new business start ups and implemented the agreed take-over of AMV by the Omnicom Group last year.
Jeremy Hicks replaces Colin Day at Aegis, who has resigned to pursue other interests.
Lord Colin Sharman, Chairman of Aegis Group said:
"Jeremy Hicks brings significant experience in both marketing services and in international corporate finance, which will be of great benefit to Aegis and the Group’s on going progress. Jeremy has all the technical, strategic and people skills that we need to take Aegis Group to the next level of its development. Colin Day has made a major contribution to Aegis and we wish him well for the future."
"The Group continues to perform well and at our preliminary results in early March we stated that 2000 had started well and initial new business wins had been strong. This remains the position and the full year should represent another year of continued satisfactory progress."
