Aegis Extends Market Research Network into Japan

Aegis Group plc ("Aegis") — the media communications and market research group — announced today that it has acquired (subject to certain conditions precedent) a 100% interest in Research Fact, a leading Japanese market research company. Research Fact provides high quality, full service custom research using in-depth analysis and advanced methodologies to a blue-chip client base of major Japanese and multinational companies.

The initial consideration of £1 million is payable in cash on closing; there is also deferred cash consideration, subject to challenging performance criteria, payable over the next three years. Research Fact had revenues of approximately £3.5 million during the year ended 30 June 2001.

The acquisition of Research Fact extends Aegis Research’s international network to 40 countries and further strengthens its position in the important Asia Pacific market. This is consistent with AegisÕ strategy of expanding its market research capabilities to meet the increasingly international needs of its clients.

Commenting on the announcement, Doug Flynn, Chief Executive of Aegis said:
