Synovate Extends Retail Offering with Acquisition of SPSL

Aegis Group plc (“Aegis”) today announces the acquisition of Solution Products Systems Ltd (SPSL). At 31 August 2007, SPSL had gross assets of £4.2m.
SPSL is the largest European provider in the rapidly emerging field of footfall measurement and analysis. It provides major retailers with equipment, data capture, analysis and consulting services, specialising in customer counting, in-store scanning and retail psychology. SPSL also publishes a number of syndicated tracking surveys, including the UK Retail Traffic Index™.
Founded in 1989 and based in the UK, SPSL now operates in 14 European countries and North America. It monitors more than a billion visits to over 4,600 retail premises annually in the UK alone.
