Isobar Continues to Build Presence in Brazil with Acquisition of Age
07 May 2008
Aegis Group plc, the marketing communications group, today announces the acquisition of Age in Brazil. Age has gross assets of $2.0m.
A broad-based communications agency, Age's specialisms include trade marketing, sports marketing, offline creative services, and online and offline media planning and buying. Age was founded in 2000, and today its major clients include adidas, Del Valle, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ultragaz, Taeq and Lopes.
The Brazilian market, representing almost 40% of the total Latin American market for advertising, has grown at an average of 18% annually from 2002 to 2007. The acquisition of Age follows that of AgenciaClick, Brazil's largest independent digital agency, in 2007, which contributed to a quadrupling of Aegis Media revenue from Latin America in the year. Further expansion in Brazil will help support the increasing number of international clients serviced in the region. Following the acquisition Age and AgenciaClick will work closely together, sharing a number of resources, and creating a fully integrated marketing offer in Brazil.
Commenting on the acquisition, Robert Lerwill, CEO of Aegis, said:
"This is a good acquisition for us. Age operates in several very interesting spaces in a market we have identified as strategically very significant. The breadth of Age’s offer will allow us to become established in new disciplines, and to expand in existing core areas, including digital, where we are already market leader."
