Two years ago Viktoria started as a trainee at Vizeum Germany. After 15 month of training she is now working as an award-winning communication consultant.
“After university I applied to Vizeum Germany for an all-embracing 15 month trainee program. I always wanted to work in the media business – a creative industry with growth potential, which is always characterised by continuing revolution. During my intensive trainee program I attended several media seminars, visited many departments and sister companies, and thereby got to know a lot of colleagues personally. Today after being two years in the company I have strongly benefited from my experience, contacts and know-how from this time. For my day to day work it is very important to know the right people to contact, to understand the working processes and to be confident in dealing with clients and colleagues.
"When I started at Vizeum my team was very busy with the Bongrain pitch and every hand/brain was needed – it was learning by doing at its best. Fortunately we won the client and today I’m still working on this account. I started with simple jobs but little by little I’m taking on more and more responsibility. Furthermore I’m handling two smaller clients Delisoft and Align Technology completely on my own. This is a great challenge since I have to switch between the three completely different worlds: French cheese, Italian toilet paper and American braces! I’m involved in all aspects of servicing the client every day; starting from client communication and competitive analysis to the development of strategies and final presentation.
"Recently I was able to prove what I have learned during my time at Vizeum with the win of the Media Youngster Award 2007 which is part of the German Media Award. With our media strategy for Vizeum, my colleague, Lilian Sandrock, and I went straight in at number one out of 15 agencies.”
